A post has arisen within HealthHarmonie for Optometrists with a specialist interest in Glaucoma to join our team in delivering community outpatient eye appointments.
Main duties of the job
As a Specialist Community Optometrist, you must be able to provide services in Glaucoma care. Your duties will include seeing follow-up patients for any of the below needs:
1. Dealing with Ocular-Refinement Patients
2. Management of OHT and suspect Glaucoma
3. Minor eye conditions
4. Patient support and education
The position is for a specialist community optometrist who already possess the College of Optometrists Professional Diploma in Glaucoma or Higher Cert in Glaucoma or Professional Cert in Glaucoma and IP registered with a minimum of 2 years working in a glaucoma setting preferably a hospital setting or community based (or equivalent).

Duties will include the below needs:
5. Testing Times
The total patient testing/appointment time is 30 minutes which include the following:
6. HCA 15-minute appointment to perform OCT, Visual Fields, and Vision examinations
7. Optometrist 15 minutes for additional testing including patient history

Qualifications
Essential
8. BSC in Optometry or equivalent
9. Professional Diploma in Glaucoma or Professional Higher Certificate Glaucoma or Professional Cert in Glaucoma
10. IP Registered
11. Professional/statutory registration
12. GOC Registered

13. Hospital setting or community-based experience
14. Able to perform in fast paced environment at 15-minute appointment slots (4 appointments per hour = 32 appointment per day)
