Howdens Joinery is looking for an experienced Senior Demand Planner to join our busy commercial business planning department at our site in Howden, East Yorkshire. As a FTSE 100 business undergoing an exciting period of transformation and growth, this role offers an ambitious and data-focused individual the opportunity to directly impact the capacity and resource planning for manufacturing, logistics, and suppliers.
This is an opportunity for the post holder to work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the business. As such we are looking for someone who will build effective relationships and confidently articulate the Demand Plan, providing appropriate context information to the supply planning & purchasing teams and demonstrate its accuracy. A natural communicator with experience in pulling together presentations, the role requires this person to lead or support stakeholder meetings.
What will you be doing as a Senior Demand Planner:
1. Forecast the expected demand for stock on all Primary Distribution Centres for a chosen group of products as accurately as possible.
2. Reviewing sales, allocations & despatch history and adjusting it where necessary.
3. Creating the most appropriate statistical forecast models, seeking out and applying relevant MI, and selecting the best forecast model based on forecast accuracy metrics, sales, and growth/decline trends.
4. To build strong relationships with marketing, route to market support, and supply planning, gather relevant management information, and ensure understanding and alignment with the business demand plan.
5. Proactively identify and address forecast accuracy issues, as well as respond to business queries in a prompt & professional manner.
6. Lead monthly S&OP meetings
What do you need to qualify for the Senior Demand Planner:
7. Degree level qualified in Supply chain management, finance or economics.
8. Previous experience in an analytical role ideally in supply chain, finance or as a business analysis. Gained in a Blue Chip, IT Driven, Manufacturing or Retail environment.
9. Good knowledge of IT systems (ideally, SAP APO) for Forecasting, Inventory Management, Planning, and production Scheduling.
10. Excellent MS Office application ability.
