Tudor Employment Agency are currently recruiting for a Senior Support Worker based at our client in Burton-upon-Trent.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in working alongside managers to oversee the daily operations of the home, ensuring that both day and night shifts run smoothly. You will provide direct support to the children, act as a mentor and supervisor to staff and take the lead in maintaining and safe, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervision and Leadership: Oversee the work of Support Workers and Waking Night Support Workers, providing guidance, support and supervision.
* Shift Management: Lead shifts, ensuring all tasks and responsibilities are completed effectively and efficiently.
* Nurturing Support: Build positive relationships with children, providing emotional and practical support and create an environment where our children feel safe and loved.
* Training and Development: Assist in the training and ongoing development of staff, promoting best practices in child care and support.
* Professional Parenting: Promote, and support the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of our children.
* Support and Reassurance: Provide emotional and practical support to children who may wake up during the night, addressing any concerns or anxieties.
* Record Keeping: Maintain records detailing the journey of our children, in a way that is thoughtful and meaningful.
* Making Memories: Provide our children with the opportunities and experiences to make happy memories.
Qualifications and Skills
Previous experience working with children and young people in a similar setting is essential for this role to best support our children and young people.
We are looking for individuals with strong interpersonal skills, the ability to engage with children and work collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals. You will have the confidence to handle challenging situations with patience and a calm demeanour and believe that every day is a new day. You will be able to lead a team to achieve positive outcomes, providing them with guidance and mentorship to develop in their roles.
You must be willing to work shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Salary: £28,000
