Global Financial Services Firm is hiring for a Senior Systems Accountant with Insurance experience. This role is based in London and operates a hybrid working pattern with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. This will be for a 12-month FTC. Salary ranges between £80K - £100K. You must have strong experience working within a non-life specialty insurance or reinsurance business (deep knowledge of accounting transactions in this industry).
You will be reporting to the Head of Systems Accounting and oversee the optimization and running of my client’s financial systems. You will have experience using and maintaining financial systems, specifically general ledgers, accounting rules engines and sub-ledgers for technical accounting. Your role involves troubleshooting, implementing system changes and supporting Financial Controllers in investigations and testing to maintain financial accuracy.
Responsibilities include:
* Maintenance and updating of financial systems, specifically Aptitude.
* Reviewing procedure and policies for financial systems.
* Perform root cause analysis and resolve issues with implemented financial systems.
* Implementing changes to financial systems in a controlled manner with appropriate testing and review.
* Ensuring that the impact of changes to financial systems on businesses process are understood.
* Support testing of any changes to financial systems.
Skills and experience include:
* Strong academic background including a Professional Accounting qualification – at least 7 years post qualification experience.
* Strong expertise within Insurance or Reinsurance
* Advanced experience and knowledge of Oracle Financials
* Proven experience in managing and improving financial systems, ensuring their alignment with business needs.
