Workshop Assistant
Up to £25,000, Burgess Hill outskirts (own transport required), Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm, 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays, pension, parking
The Role
Due to fantastic growth in recent years, we are delighted to partner with a wonderful business in the aviation sector in their search for a Workshop Assistant to join their skilled team. Working alongside a number of Mechanical Technicians, your role will be to undertake the disassembly, refurbishment and reassembly of aircraft wheels and brakes.
1. Full disassembly of aircraft wheels.
2. Initial test and disassemble of aircraft brakes
3. Dismounting of aircraft tyres from wheels
4. Technical cleaning of all wheel and brake components with the use of workshop machinery.
5. Operation of the paint removal machines.
6. Reassembly of wheels, mounting of aircraft tyres including torquing, inflation, and pressure testing.
7. Reassembly of brake units, function testing and fault isolation.
8. Reading and understanding of component maintenance manuals and following technical instructions.
Requirements
To be successful in the role of Workshop Assistant you will have good mechanical skills and competency with hand tools developed through your previous work experience or through your personal interests. The role can be physically demanding, so a level of physical fitness is also necessary. You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to follow process and instructions. Due to the location of the position, you will require your own transport.
