The Position Newly Weds® Foods Ltd are rapidly expanding and as such we are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated, proactive and driven individual to work as an R&D Technologist based in the Foodservice Team. Reporting into the Research and Development Manager, the successful applicants will be responsible for ensuring the development of ingredient formulations and recipes in line with customer requirements. As well as working alongside the NWF Sales, Culinary and Marketing teams, keeping to budgets and deadlines, helping to secure new and developing existing business. Key Responsibilities To develop ingredient formulas and recipes appropriate to supplying value added products, taking into account, cost, availability, functionality, legislative status, customer acceptability and purchasing policy. Liaise with the key internal stakeholders on a daily basis such as Commercial, Marketing, Culinary and Legislation. Develop a positive working relationship with the customer, both external and internal. Conduct product demonstrations as required. Modify formulations, recipes and manufacturing conditions to plant capabilities, and customer requirements. Be competent in the use and application of NWF testing equipment and pilot plant. Understand NWF manufacturing processes. Have a working knowledge and understanding of the customers production processes and limitations. Conduct trials in pilot plant and provide technical service/support at customer sites. Administration Undertake all relevant administration, ensuring records are up to date and accurate. Ensure all associated administrative tasks within CQL, Purchasing and Customer Service are followed up and accurate, before utilised on behalf of the customers. Upkeep of the lab and office, maintaining an organised workplace. Perform literary research, ensuring NWF resources and team members are kept fully up to date. Person Specification A Degree in Food Science or related discipline is essential. Previous experience from a similar background or role is preferred. Full, clean driving licence. Ability to travel within UK, Europe, Asia-Pacific and USA. Location & Hours of work This is a position based at the UK and European Head Office in Ossett, working a basic 37.5 hour week, Monday to Friday. However due to the nature of this role you will need to demonstrate a certain amount of flexibility and have the ability to work away from home with the potential to travel overseas.
