VACANCY: Factory Supervisor

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Based at our site in Hyde, where we are looking for a well-rounded individual to supervise all shop floor employees and ensure all expectations are met, within a safe environment.
Responsible for the delivery, reliability, and availability of the EBIT targets. Motivating the team to ensure employee engagement is constant, whilst looking at continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead Health and Safety activities to ensure adherence to safe practices and PPE guidelines, encouraging participation in site safety programs, and promote good housekeeping.
Adopt a “right first time” approach and ensure our customer quality is met.
Lead the department to ensure productivity targets are met in line with customer demand.
Interface with internal company departments, to ensure the smooth running of the factory.
Utilise and endorse company systems to increase efficiency within the workplace.
Liaise with appropriate managers where production problems threaten effectiveness/efficiency.
Supervise and motivate the production team to ensure targets are met on a continual basis.
Supervise/motivate the team to ensure stock is accurate, picks and deliveries are on time.
Ensure company procedures are adhered to in terms of Business, Health & safety, KPI’s, Quality, Environmental, Supervisory, and first line disciplinary matters.
Support and supervise all directs in the duties encouraging development.
Carry out appraisals and training for direct reports.
Address personnel issues as necessary or coordinate senior management support.
Complete back to work documentation as and when required.
Maintain a high level of factory housekeeping.
Complete any tasks as necessary to ensure production operations run smoothly and as planned.
Provide a level of customer service support to the planning/sales teams.
Lead shop floor SQDIPP reviews.
Identify lean activities to ensure efficiency savings.
Ensure all 5s and housekeeping standards are maintained monitored on a continual basis.
Attend daily planning meeting. Act as the main link between planning and production.
Ensure all daily / weekly tasks on agreed schedule are carried out in a timely manner.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have a strong and proven background in manufacturing/engineering with successes in leading, mentoring and improving shop floor teams. This is a hands-on role and would suit an experienced factory supervisor looking to contribute to the lean running of the site.
Recent and relevant experience within a production/manufacturing/engineering environment.
Experience and knowledge of lean systems and best practice.
Previous experience of running a team; particularly coaching, training and development.
Enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to motivate others.
The ability to follow procedure and schedules whilst possessing a desire to continually improve.
Excellent communication and solution orientated problem-solving ability.
Demonstrate attention to detail and observation.
Flexibility to adjust workload priorities to take account of new deadlines.
Continuous improvement mindset.
Independent worker with excellent planning and organising skills.
Fully conversant with Microsoft Office Software.
