An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for two experienced individuals to provide clinical leadership and expertise within our General Surgery wards: Firth 8 and Firth 3.
The service provides care for surgical patients undergoing investigation, intervention, and surgery.
Essential Requirements:
1. First level Registration
2. Recognised teaching qualification with proven ability to provide clinical support and education
3. Evidence of academic achievement or working towards Degree level of study.
4. Proven evidence of leadership skills
5. Highly developed communication skills across disciplines
6. Evidence of participation in audit and research
7. Evidence of managing change
8. An understanding of patient flow in a busy acute area
9. Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
This vacancy is advertised on a permanent contract basis.
Main duties of the job
Deliver high standards of nursing care to a diverse range of patients and support to carers on the ward.
Lead a team of qualified, support and student team members.
Take charge of the ward / department.
Support the Senior Sister / Senior Charge Nurse in ensuring the highest standard and quality of nursing care is delivered.
