As part of the Metals and Minerals Operations desk, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the operational processes involved in the trading and logistics of refined metals.
Due to the remarkable growth of our Metals desk, we are expanding our team and looking for an Aluminium Operator to drive our commercial activities forward.
About the Role: Based in the heart of London, you will be at the forefront of managing and optimizing our operational processes in trading and logistics. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth and efficient transactions by liaising with external counterparties and working closely with our commercial trading team. In this dynamic environment, you will need to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and requirements, making your analytical skills crucial for identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Key responsibilities
* Organise Shipping and Storage: Ensure the seamless organization of shipping and storage for cargos.
* Coordinate Documentation: Manage the issuance and timely delivery of all necessary shipping documentation for purchase/sale, export/import, and transit.
* Customs Formalities: Handle customs formalities as required, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
* Cargo Inspections: Organize and oversee inspections of cargos to maintain quality and standards.
* Operational Coordination: Collaborate with external counterparties and internal teams to execute trades flawlessly.
* System Management: Accurately reflect cargo information in our system and conduct thorough reviews of operational costs.
Skills and Experience:
* Industry Expertise: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in refined metals operations.
* Trade Execution Knowledge: Strong understanding of trade execution, logistics, and documentation.
* VAT Understanding: A good level of VAT knowledge is desirable.
* Warranting Operations: Experience in handling warranting operations is a plus.
* Freight Forwarding: Previous experience in freight forwarding is advantageous.
* Technical Proficiency: Strong IT skills to manage and optimize operational processes.
