Job Opportunity: Deputy Manager
Leader Group are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager for a highly regarded therapeutic child care and education service in Welshpool. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a specialised environment that provides long-term, stable placements for young people within a therapeutic community setting.
Role Overview:
As the Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of a separate accommodation unit for older boys, focusing on their progression towards independence and supporting their transitions. This role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team and external agencies to ensure the highest standards of care and support are provided.

Schedule:
* Full-time, Permanent
* Day shift, Monday to Friday
* Weekend availability required
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily operations at the separate accommodation for older boys, ensuring it remains integrated with the main site.
* Support the management of the care component, integrating education and therapy as part of the therapeutic community approach.
* Work closely with external agencies, including local authorities, colleges, and work experience providers.
* Provide line management and supervision to a subgroup of staff, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and regulatory compliance.
* Engage in active communication with young people, staff, and external partners to maintain high standards of care.
* Foster developmentally appropriate support for the boys, balancing independence with nurture and boundaries.
Requirements:
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in residential childcare (required).
* Experience with therapeutic approaches and a strong understanding of child development, attachment, and trauma (highly desirable).
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong IT proficiency.
* Full UK driving licence (required).
* Over 21 years of age.
* A sense of humour, creativity, and a genuine interest in working with young people.
