Whatyou'll do
In thissenior Technology Architecture leadership role, you will lead andmanage Payments Technology Architecture, ensuring that the visionand architecture roadmaps align with and support the delivery ofcustomer-focused propositions. You will drive architecturalstrategy in collaboration with business and technology leaders,engaging with all business areas and technology domains forintegrated architecture roadmaps. You will play a strong roleconnecting across the Payments Industry and will provide a strongvoice within the NatWest Group ensuring that we engage withappropriate governance forums including the ArchitectureCouncil.
We will look to youstrongly influence the development of business strategies at anorganisational level, identifying transformational opportunitiesfor our businesses and technology areas associated with both newand existing technologies.
* You'll ownthe operating model and practices for the technical architecturediscipline within Payments Technology, setting standards forexcellence in both the creation of architecture and the developmentof your teams’ critical people capabilities
* Asa champion of a service mindset and a driven enterprise behaviour,you will promote continuous optimisation and simplification of thearchitecture, fostering modern, cloud-native architecture patternsand cross-functional partnerships, ensuring capabilities are sharedand reused effectively
* Payments data and DataArchitecture and lineage is a key accountability while alsosupporting the domain in removing technical debt and enhancingoperational resilience
* You'll be defining andcommunicating the current, resultant and target state architecturefor your assigned scope.
* Additionally, you’llbe making sure that the architecture links to, and is informed by,our overall strategy and architecture, and produces thearchitecture outcomes
* Translating architectureroadmaps into packages of work that allow frequent incrementaldelivery of value to be included in the portfoliobacklog
* Defining, creating and maintainingarchitecture models, roadmaps, standards and outcomes, usingarchitecture strategies to ensure alignment to adjacent andcapability mode
* Working closely with businessowners, portfolio managers, product managers and release managersto define the target intentionalarchitecture
* Leading complex and technicallychallenging architectural transformations, coordinating design andplatform teams across enterprisedomains
* Seeking out and utilising continuousfeedback, fostering adaptive design and engineering practices todrive the collaboration of programmes and teams around a commontechnicalvision
The skillsyou'll need
To succeed in thisrole, you’ll need expert knowledge of application architecture, andat least one business, data or infrastructure architecture with anin-depth knowledge of the remaining disciplines. A skillednegotiator to navigate the enterprise dependency while driving forcontinued simplification and reuse. You will have excellentcommunication skills with the ability to clearly communicatecomplex technical concepts to colleagues, up to senior leadershiplevel, along with a good understanding of Agile methodologies withexperience of working in an Agileteam.
