Therole
You will beworking on a varied portfolio of projects both in the UK andInternationally
Providingtechnical advice to clients on the operation ofelectrical/mechanical engineering services in existingbuildings
Preparing FeeProposals
Deliveringrefurbishment and upgrade projects from inception tocompletion
Undertakingcondition surveys of electrical/mechanical installations andproducing written reports andrecommendations
Developing andproducing electrical/mechanical designs and specifications ensuringquality and technical quality standards aremet
Production ofFeasibility Studies for electrical/mechanical infrastructurereplacement orupgrade
Technical DueDiligence Reporting
Ensuring thatall work under their control is undertaken to relevant andapplicable UK and EU regulations design guidesetc.
Review ofdevelopment and fitout proposals and advising client on theimplications in relation to the electrical/mechanicalservices
You will havethe opportunity to lead electrical services design on largeprojects and lead overall MEP on small to medium sized projectswithin theoffice
Inaddition to mainstream MEP we also do retrofits/overhauls and workon major ets: e.g Generators HV/LV switchboard replacementstransformer replacement through to complete primary electricalinfrastructure overhauling etc. More shall be detailed within theintervie
Sometimesthe role involves surveying existing systems or buildings; essingthem against standards and life safety compliance; peer reviewingsomeone else s engineering andmore
Its also breadthwise; it s wide and varied but you can also developdepthwise on specialist systems you like themost

Excellent technical knowledgein Electrical Design Engineering thorough understanding of BuildingServices Engineering and interdisciplinary design through allstages of the designprocess
Good experiencein use of standards and codes applied in buildingservices
WiringRegulations; Fire Detection Systems; General and Emergency Lightingdesignknowledge
Ability toundertake MEP building services surveys with minimalsupervision
Ability to peerreview in detail with good level of background knowledge ofregulatory / standardsdoentation
Acquainted withand can deliver parallel projects of all types sizes and throughvarious RIBAstages
Can undertakeessential calculations maximum demands typical Wm2 and applyelectricaltheory
Goodunderstanding of 3 phase LV systems with reasonable to goodunderstanding of HVsystems
At least someexperience working on projects in existingbuildings
Ability todevelop good relationships with Clients Project Managers ManagingAgents andContractors
Previousconsultancyexperience:you will appreciate theimportance of complementary specialisms such as acoustics fireengineering and computer modelling in the design ofbuildings
Autonomousapproach: able to lead small to medium sized projects and able totake a brief from the project lead on large projects and deliver& control the tasksrequired
Responsible forthe quality of ouroutputs
