We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Design and Technology Technician to join our vibrant and supportive team at an independent grammar school in Lytham. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to support the delivery of high-quality DT education in a well-resourced and forward-thinking department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, maintain, and organise materials, tools, and equipment for practical DT lessons.
- Support teachers and students during practical sessions, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain an organised and well-stocked workshop and classroom environment.
- Provide technical support to staff and students, offering guidance on the safe use of tools and machinery.
- Manage stock levels and place orders for materials and equipment as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have relevant qualifications and experience in a DT workshop environment.
- Possess strong technical skills and a working knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Be organised, proactive, and capable of working independently.
- Have excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with staff and students.
- Be passionate about supporting the learning and development of young people.
