About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Programme Manager to join our team at Theatre Royal Plymouth, a registered charity dedicated to inspiring a lifetime of creativity for audiences, artists, and participants in Plymouth and beyond.
As Programme Manager, you will be responsible for creating and delivering high-quality projects for young people and the wider community, fostering a lifelong love of theatre and supporting pathways. You will work closely with the Head of Artistic Planning, Projects to re-launch the youth theatre offer, ensuring that young people's voices contribute to the programme's shape and lead its delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Management: Manage a number of creative projects in formal and informal settings, responding to need and opportunities as they arise, while ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
* Partnerships and Collaboration: Develop and maintain strong partnerships with theatre companies, education institutions, charities, and other stakeholders, working together to achieve shared goals.
* Staff Management: Line manage practitioners on our payroll, providing support, guidance, and development opportunities to ensure their growth and success.
* Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with company policies, particularly Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding Children and Adults at Risk.
Requirements
* Substantial Experience: Developing and delivering youth theatre offers, managing freelance staff, and facilitating theatre workshops/projects.
* Excellent Communication: Effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders, including young people, teachers, and partners.
* Knowledge and Skills: Thorough knowledge of working with young people, school culture, and the education system, as well as awareness of relevant educational research and evaluation models.
