Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Support Worker for Play, youll
* Assist nurses in assessing the care needs of the children
* Liaise with the Matron to plan and deliver appropriate activities for children and adolescents of varying ages and abilities
* Develop, plan and evaluate play programs, activities and events
* Create opportunities within the hospice that support the education, learning and development needs of the children and young people
* Co-ordinate effective use of resources including gardens and sensory rooms

About the Role
At Acorns, we aim to make every day a special day for children who spend time with us at a hospice. We provide complex care for babies, children and young people, who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, both in our hospices and in their homes. Our Clinical Support Workers for Play are part of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team delivering care packages that are tailored to each childs individual holistic needs and were structured so that youll simply have the time to care.
As a Clinical Support Worker for Play, youll
* Assist nurses in assessing the care needs of the children
* Liaise with the Matron to plan and deliver appropriate activities for children and adolescents of varying ages and abilities
* Develop, plan and evaluate play programs, activities and events
* Create opportunities within the hospice that support the education, learning and development needs of the children and young people

About You
* Care certificate or willing to work towards
* NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care or equivalent
* Experience in a creative environment for children and young people with complex health needs
What We Offer
* £25,235 - £26,265 per annum. Enhancements for Saturdays (30%), Sundays (50%) and nights (50%)
* 37.5 hours per week
