We are currently looking for an Area Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our friendly team based from our Bestwood Quarry in Papplewick, close to Nottingham. This role will be to work in our quarries supporting those in the East Midlands area. This role is commutable from Nottingham, Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Heanor, Derby, Alfreton, South Normanton, Ravenshead, Newark-on-Trent, Bingham, Kirkby in Ashfield, Matlock, Belper, Chesterfield, Worksop, Sheffield, Grantham, Loughborough and the surrounding areas.

The role is a DAYS role so you will be required to work Monday - Friday; with overtime available to meet with our site’s needs.
ESSENTIAL – you will need to hold a FULL UK manual car driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Quarry Manager, as our Area Mechanical Maintenance Fitter you will be responsible for undertaking plant maintenance, repairs and improvements to ensure maximum reliability of all plant associated areas and to assist team members in all aspects of plant operations.
Your responsibilities as the Area Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will include:
1. Respond to plant breakdowns, when necessary and be responsible for the correct and efficient repair of equipment keeping downtime to a minimum with timely and safe adherence to the maintenance plan whilst complying to all relevant statutory legislation and the internal company Safety, Health and Environmental standards.
2. Continue to improve plant performance whilst maintaining safety, maintenance and asset reliability.
3. Contribute to the in-house development of the Computer Maintenance Management System.
4. In support of the maintenance and operations functions, you will utilise documents, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated guidelines for the safe and efficient maintenance of equipment.
The Ideal Candidate
The role of Area Mechanical Maintenance Fitter is a varied, complex and rewarding position that requires:
1. Level 3 Apprentice trained or ONC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering would prove highly beneficial although not essential as QBE (Qualified by Experience) is essential in this role.
2. Experience working in the Quarrying industry would prove a distinct advantage.
3. Have experience of TPM methodology and Continuous Improvement.
4. Working knowledge of relevant engineering maintenance principles and practices, and experience of working in a relevant heavy engineering industry.
5. Knowledgeable in the area of Predictive Maintenance.
6. Experience in working with a Computer Maintenance Management System.
7. Experience with Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis tools/techniques.
8. Understands database systems as relevant to planned maintenance and logging of shift activities.
9. An understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics and understand National and International codes and symbols used on drawings and specifications.
