The team…
The ITV Pensions team in Preston is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ITV pensions arrangements for its members. The team uses its expertise to administer and monitor all aspects of managing these arrangements.
The role…
We are looking for a highly experienced Investment and Accounting Specialist to join our tight knit Pensions team in Preston on a 12-18 month contract.
The role involves supporting the Trustee Board and Pensions Executive with a number of investment and accounting-related projects to continue to improve the complex processes involved in running a pension arrangement.
This role demands strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of both investment principles and pension accounting standards. Your expertise will help enhance the pension risk management framework and provide solutions to the team's leadership.
Some of your key day-to-day duties and projects will include:
1. Review and implement an appropriate investment governance structure
2. Review the current position regarding tax reclaims and to complete actions, as appropriate, to ensure that all tax claims available have been/will be received.
3. Review the current accounting processes with the internal Finance team
4. Identify and implement improvements to ensure that the monthly management accounts and the annual statutory accounts process and the audit process is as efficient and accurate as possible.
5. Support the Trustee Board and Pensions team with the auditor selection exercise
6. Support the Trustee Board and Pensions team with the development of the 2025 Scheme budget using the zero-based budgeting model
7. Review and to improve the current approvals process, budget monitoring and reporting process with the internal Finance team
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)...
8. Extensive experience in investment governance, accounting, or financial analysis, preferably within the pensions sector.
9. Understanding of pension fund regulations and compliance requirements.
10. Proven track record of preparing financial reports.

11. Strong understanding of asset allocation and risk assessment.
12. Knowledge of accounting principles and standards, particularly as they relate to pension funds.
13. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and financial audits
14. Awareness of relevant tax laws and their impact on pension investments.
15. Ability to assess pension risks.
16. Expertise in developing budgets for pension funds.
17. Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting to stakeholders.
18. Ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
19. Ability to manage a number of complex projects that will be running concurrently
