EPUT is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Specialist Mental Health Recovery service, based at Latton Bush, Harlow. The post covers the North Harlow primary care networks and the post is part of the West Essex Integrated Care System. PCN clinics are being developed in the locality currently and will replace the current system of referrals into a First Response Team. Currently, consultants are expected to provide a consultative input to the PCN MHPs and direct patients into clinics when threshold is met for secondary care input. This arrangement is expected to develop further as the transformation work progresses.
Main duties of the job
The team provides community services for patient referred to the secondary mental health by GP surgeries within the Neighbourhood teams in Harlow North. The team serves an adult population of around 21000. The post holder would be part of the senior management team of the team and be integral in developing and improving the service.
The post-holder is required to work independently and accountably as part of a team of clinicians offering Mental Health services. Working collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services; providing a 7 day a week, 24 hours a day service for 365 days a year.

You must have full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register, with an appropriate CCT or equivalent or be within six months of obtaining your CCT on the date of the AAC.

Job responsibilities
Provide consultant input and Responsible clinician duties for community patients.
Ensure excellence in the provision of mental health assessments and evidence based treatments to all referred patients to the service in line with Trust policies.
Establish a reliable and accessible work schedule with the team and be readily available during work hours.
Work collaboratively with colleagues in community and inpatient settings concerning the timely care and transfer of patients as necessary.
Ensure appropriate administration and documentation in relation to duties of the post, including recording clinical activities in the Trust electronic patient record system.
Liaise with primary care services as appropriate about patients physical health, mental health and social care needs.
Help co-ordinate further support and/or management between different services as service users needs may dictate.

9. MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

10. Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.

12. On the Specialist Register with qualifications General Adult.
13. Postgraduate degree in psychiatry MRC Psych or equivalent.

14. Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice at the time of appointment
15. Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
16. Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
17. Approved under S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment.
