We're looking for an experienced Ornithologist to join our internationally renowned client, based out of either the Glasgow or Edinburgh office.

What you'll be doing:
* Planning and undertaking bird surveys for local and national infrastructure and housing development projects, including liaising with internal clients
* Drafting and reviewing technical reports
* Preparing tenders for undertaking surveys, including breeding and wintering bird surveys
* Contributing ecological input to a multi-disciplinary design workshop to discuss mitigation, and make recommendations appropriate to the ecological impacts.
* Line managing and mentoring junior team members
About you:
To apply for this role you'll need:
* 10+ years experience as an Ornithologist / Ecologist with Ornithology specialism
* Background in impact assessment for EIA and HRA, and a broad range of reporting
* Experience undertaking breeding and wintering bird surveys in line with best practice guidance for medium to large sized projects
* Experience undertaking impact assessment in relation to bird populations on and off site for a variety of projects across multiple sectors.
* Project management, leadership, fee proposal and tender experience
* Line management and mentoring experience
