Come and join Thornford Park as a Part-Time Wellbeing and Welfare Champion, where you will be a friendly face to staff as you instil and maintain a positive working culture that has a strong emphasis on improving employee’s wellbeing.
You will work 22.5 hours a week at Thornford Park in Thatcham where you'll be responsible for identifying the evolving needs of staff, which will see you provide resources, plan events and be a point of contact for those who may need further wellbeing assistance.
Liaising with the Regional Wellbeing Lead, you will deliver communications, initiatives and regular and themed wellbeing events, which you will have an allocated budget and stock, which you will need to manage.
As a Wellbeing and Welfare Champion, you will be responsible for liaising with internal and external stakeholders and supporting staff with communications.

As a Wellbeing and Welfare Champion, you will be:
1. Printing and putting up publicity posters in your workplace
2. Being the point of contact in your team for any colleague who wants to know how to find out more about any of the Health & Wellbeing activities
3. Putting health and wellbeing on your team meeting agenda and updating colleagues about what’s happening
4. Keeping a resource of health and wellbeing information for colleagues to look at
5. Promoting particular health campaigns through poster displays, giving out leaflets (e.g. Stoptober, World Mental Health Day)
6. Encouraging colleagues to sign up to one of the health & wellbeing challenges such as our regular pedometer challenges
7. Signposting colleagues to relevant services/people
8. Raising/escalating any concerns in the right manner
9. Supporting and checking in with new starters from a wellbeing point of view
To be successful in this role, you will have:
10. An interest in health and wellbeing
11. Excellent communication skills
12. An understanding of healthy lifestyles and willingness to undertake any relevant training
13. Ability to keep and maintenance records.
14. Previous experience within a similar role and/or environment.
15. Good IT/computer skills
Where you will be working:
You will work at Thornford Park which is a combination of medium secure and low secure units and rehabilitation flats. The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting and empowering patients in their recovery and rehabilitation.
You will work alongside the multidisciplinary to provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/ complex care needs as well as those with personality disorder. Service users may have histories of offending and/or may have failed in previous placements.
