As a Planning Manager/Senior Planner, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our development projects through the planning process, from initial concept to securing planning consents. This position requires strategic foresight, effective communication skills, and a collaborative approach. Working closely with internal teams, local authorities, and external stakeholders, you will help Allison Homes to deliver sustainable, high-quality developments that enhance community and environmental value.
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning Strategy : Develop and execute planning strategies for sites, aligning with Allison Homes’ goals and analyzing policy changes.
2. Site Assessment : Evaluate potential sites for sustainability, biodiversity, and community impact; advise on planning risks for land acquisitions.
3. Applications & Approvals : Manage planning applications, ensuring compliance and effective collaboration with local authorities to expedite approvals.
4. Stakeholder Engagement : Build strong relationships with planning authorities, consultants, and communities; lead public consultations to support community-focused projects.
5. Sustainability Focus : Integrate Allison Homes’ sustainability and biodiversity values into proposals; collaborate with environmental consultants on eco-friendly designs.
6. Leadership & Mentorship : Prepare to lead, foster teamwork, and support continuous learning within the planning team.
7. Project Tracking : Monitor project milestones, timelines, and budgets, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
What you will bring
8. Degree in relevant field; RTPI membership preferred; 5+ years’ experience in UK residential planning.
9. Strong knowledge of UK planning law, sustainability principles, and project management.
10. Excellent written and verbal skills for clear and diplomatic interactions.
11. Customer-focused, collaborative, proactive, and results-driven.
12. Full UK driving license and vehicle access for business travel.
