Assistant Accountant

Our client, a reputable company based in Wallsend, is seeking a skilled Assistant Accountant to join their team for a 10-week contract. This is a full-time position, offering a fantastic opportunity to further develop your skills and contribute to a thriving finance department.
Responsibilities:
1. Assisting with daily financial operations, including cash posting, payroll, and accounts to trial balance
2. Reconciling accounts and ensuring accuracy of financial data
3. Managing VAT processes and assisting with the preparation of VAT returns
4. Producing regular P&L reports and providing insightful analysis
5. Supporting the finance team with any ad-hoc tasks as required
Skills and Experience:
6. Proven experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar role
7. Proficient in using SAGE and Microsoft Excel
8. Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
9. Ability to work independently and within a team environment
10. Previous experience in producing financial reports and performing reconciliations
