Role Purpose:
On a global, regional and local basis, lead strategy and planning for a Procurement sub-category to deliver competitive advantage for HSBC business through cost savings, lifecycle value generation, demand management and innovation.
The role will support the Category Lead in working closely with stakeholders within the Bank’s Technology division.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Working with stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies and tactics for procurement category initiatives.
* Leading end to end planning and execution of sourcing projects, including requirements gathering, commercial and contractual negotiation and securing internal endorsement at the required level to proceed to signature stage.
* Developing and maintaining a global stakeholder network in a complex and dynamic business environment.
* Supporting the creation of sub-category strategies and plans to achieve or exceed agreed savings targets for the category.
* Driving business outcomes and behaviours with subject matter expertise to drive value through the category planning lifecycle.
* Understanding the internal dynamics of the supply base and how this impacts interaction with HSBC, particularly where suppliers are also HSBC customers.
* Lead/ support as necessary the creation and maintenance of a pipeline of projects to achieve or exceed agreed savings target for category.
* Monitoring the supplier market to identify opportunities resulting from new product offerings and/or market shifts (e.g. entry or exit of suppliers, changes in pricing, risk on category).
* Seeking alternatives to current category specifications/ demand parameters.
* Monitoring buying channel compliance for the business/ function with whom they own the Procurement relationship and driving corrective action as necessary.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
* Experienced in IT sourcing
* Experience in leading complex commercial and contractual negotiations, from requirements stage through to contract execution
* Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders
* A good understanding of IT Data subscriptions or Financial services is highly desirable
This role can be based in Sheffield, Birmingham, Leeds or Chester, with hybrid working
