Job description
If you're looking for a rewarding new role within healthcare, you are in the right place!
Working in healthcare can be incredibly fulfilling as it allows you to make a positive impact on people's lives every day.
We're looking for committed and engaging Care Assistants to support our service user with her care needs throughout the day and night, on a 1:1 basis.
Meet our service user
Our service user is a happy young toddler who lives in Sedgley with her loving mom.
She enjoys lots of cuddles, having relaxing head massages and enjoys interaction with her family, and care team.
Playtime is a key part of this role and you'll be watching many Disney films together and having lots of fun with sensory play activities; light up and musical toys are her favourite and it is important for her care team to provide a safe, nurturing environment to support her development and learning.
She is unable to communicate verbally and will use facial expressions to make her wants and needs known. To avoid her becoming distressed of frustrated, you will spend time to get to know her unique signals and cues.
You will support all aspects of her care and be vigilant to her needs, which can be intense at times. This includes personal care, repositioning, tending to her clinical needs and carrying out regular observations.
Her bedtime routine usually starts around 6.30pm, with her settling down for the night at around 8pm. You will sit with her throughout the night to monitor her closely, carry out frequent repositioning and tend to her personal care needs as required. Should she wake, you will offer comfort and reassurance to promote a restful environment for our service user.
We believe in creating a warm and inclusive environment where our young service user can thrive, and we're seeking a care team who shares our vision. If you're passionate about making a positive difference in the life of a child and have experience or a willingness to learn about complex care needs, we want to hear from you!
