Job Title: Commercial Contracts Solicitor (Property/Regeneration) Employer: North England based council - can disclose privately Rate: £55-65p/h Inside Hybrid: Fully remote Contract length: Rolling 3 months (scope for extensions) Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Commercial Contracts Solicitor to join our legal team, supporting the council’s ambitious property and regeneration initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in drafting, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts related to property development, regeneration projects, and other council services. Key Responsibilities: Provide legal advice on commercial contracts, property transactions, and regeneration schemes. Draft and negotiate complex agreements, including development agreements, leases, procurement contracts, and joint venture arrangements. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, public procurement regulations, and council policies. Support multidisciplinary teams in delivering regeneration and infrastructure projects. Manage external legal advisors and liaise with stakeholders, including developers, contractors, and government bodies. Essential Skills and Experience: Qualified solicitor with a strong background in commercial contracts and property law. Proven experience in regeneration, development projects, or local authority work. Knowledge of public procurement and local government law is desirable. Excellent negotiation, drafting, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to provide pragmatic, solution-focused legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
