Relocation expenses up to £8K Plus a Recruitment incentive of £20K
An exciting once in a lifetime opportunity has arisen to work as a consultant dermatologist in the beautiful historic county of Worcestershire, re-establishing an NHS secondary care dermatology department that can thrive into the future.
We look forward to, re-building the once great dermatology department into a centre of excellence serving the people of Worcestershire with high quality and sustainable dermatology services. The new department, although Worcestershire based, will come under the management of the Wye Valley NHS Trust team in Hereford, who have a track record of success having been awarded the BMJ Dermatology Team of the Year award 2021, and continue to top national performance tables in many key performance indicators.
Speciality interests are encouraged with inflammatory dermatoses, patch testing, phototherapy, Mohs micrographic surgery and paediatric dermatology all requiring input and leadership.
We welcome and encourage applications from enthusiastic clinicians who are passionate about delivering excellent safe and equitable care to the patients of Worcestershire.
Main duties of the job
Opportunities have arisen for a consultant dermatologist to work in Worcestershire as part of an ICS-wide service under the management and leadership of Wye Valley NHS Trust in Hereford. We encourage the application of candidates who wish to work less than full-time & pride ourselves in offering the maximum flexibility to provide colleagues with a great work-life balance.
We are interested in consultant dermatologists with general skills and experience who have or may like to develop sub-speciality interests. Successful candidates would lead an excellent & dedicated dermatology nursing team which includes experienced clinical nurse specialists and a nurse consultant.
Applicants should be well versed in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer and be able to manage the full range of inflammatory dermatoses which present to general dermatology clinics.
Facilities for Mohs micrographic surgery, phototherapy, biological therapies and patch testing are in place already.
Teledermatology including for in-patient referrals will form an increasing part of all dermatologists work and working closely with primary care providers & referral systems utilising artificial intelligence is likely to become increasingly relevant.
Working towards & in line with the 'Getting It Right First Time' (GIRFT) objectives as part of the NHS Further Faster Programme you will be encouraged to develop your service, improving dermatology services to patients in Worcestershire.
