The role
As a General Maintenance Assistant, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. An opportunity exists for a General Maintenance Assistant to work in a leading defence technology company delivering a wide range of design, manufacturing and operational support projects to defence customers from a MOD site based near Crimond, Aberdeenshire.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
1. Maintenance of domestic water and drainage systems.
2. General labouring and porterage including receipt, packing and dispatch of goods.
3. Supervision of contracted staff to ensure that work is carried out to agreed standards.
4. Maintain technical and administration records and provide information as required.
5. Safety & Health of self and others who may be affected by work activities.
6. Routine maintenance of site areas, buildings, exterior and interior.
This role is full time and is based on site at Crimond.
Essential experience of the General Maintenance Assistant:
7. A comprehensive knowledge of current safe working practices and safety procedures
8. Experience of general building maintenance
9. Experience of maintenance of outdoor areas
10. Basic Computer skills including email, Word and spreadsheets.
11. Use of hand and power tools
Qualifications for the General Maintenance Assistant:
12. Minimum GSCE in Maths and English or NVQ level2.
13. Possession of a current full UK driving licence.
Security Clearance
14. The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role.
