LOCATION: Hybrid – Co-working space in Bromley Town Centre / The Hub (Unit 268, Upper Mall, The Glades, High Street, Bromley, BR1 1DN)
RESPONSIBLE FOR: This is a new role, so the successful candidate can help shape the role. Documenting how Greener and Cleaner delivers existing services, helping to design new projects and services, capturing templates to allow other communities to develop sustainability hubs.
HOURS: 1.5 days per month. Hours can be flexible around the candidate and any other commitments.
ABOUT THE BLUEPRINT OFFICER ROLE:
Greener and Cleaner is looking for a Blueprint Officer to ensure that the learning from our projects benefits the wider community. You will need a track record in service design and documenting ways of working, processes, and procedures.
You will have excellent written communication skills and understand the mission of the charity and be able to effectively document the activity, projects, and work of the charity in a simple-to-use and engaging format that can easily be explained to stakeholders.
As part of a larger Greener and Cleaner project, and key to growing the charity, the Blueprint Officer will be self-driven, organised, and confident as well as have a personal interest in the mission of Greener and Cleaner.
Please note: The successful candidate will be subject to a reference and enhanced DBS check, in line with Greener and Cleaner's safer recruitment procedures.
PERSONAL SPEC:
The successful candidate will have prior experience of service design, creating user-friendly collateral, service blueprints, and process documents. You will need to take a proactive approach in capturing/designing processes.
This is a new requirement, and it will really suit someone who is a confident self-starter with an eye for detail. We are a small charity, and your ability to help us expand our reach will make an enormous difference in helping us grow over the coming years.
You will be organised, reliable, and an excellent communicator, working with the wider staff team to ensure that blueprints for elements of running a community sustainability hub are created. You will be able to quickly build relationships with others, be highly numerate and literate, and be adept in using common computer packages (such as Microsoft Word and Excel and process mapping tools).
You will be passionate about Greener and Cleaner’s mission. Knowledge of environmental issues and how communities can help is a bonus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Beginning to capture our overall service blueprint for the Greener and Cleaner Hub project
2. Understanding and documenting current processes and procedures throughout the organisation, and identifying areas for improvement
3. Creating different pieces of collateral around processes and service design that best suits the activity (such as flow charts, step-by-step documents, etc.)
4. Creating and documenting lessons learned through carrying out processes as to ensure the lessons are used in future
5. Understanding, interpreting, and communicating needs of the process / template user
6. Understanding Greener and Cleaner’s mission and the impact of the charity on the wider community
7. Other duties as required that are reasonably requested
