Are you an experienced Stores Operative with a background in understanding complex materials requirements, stock control and logistics operations within a manufacturing environment? If the answer is yes, then we have a fantastic opportunity within our Purpose Bodies team in Wisbech. As Lead Stores Operative, you will ensure that our production teams are kept supplied with full kits of parts for the jobs they are working on, and the stores are kept stocked to a level which ensures continuity of supply and demand.
What is the role?
We are looking for a Stores Lead to deliver on our ambitious plans to bring modern processes into our Purpose Bodies department. This fast-paced team turnaround upwards of 30 bodies a month, and as such, is one of our busiest departments. With hundreds of parts and material specifications being delivered a month, the expectation on this person is to help establish a process for ensuring smooth line side delivery for our engineers, and accurate min/max stock levels in our stores. This role is vital in the efficiencies we are looking to drive in our manufacturing processes.
Who would this role suit?
This role would suit an individual with leadership experience in stores role, and can demonstrate strong knowledge in processes such as KanBan, Min/Max, JIT and OTIF processes. Ideally you will have also worked in an environment where deliveries are made daily requiring booking and checking, and stock counts are completed on a daily basis.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Accepting and unloading deliveries, booking them onto the stock system and keeping purchasing informed of any discrepancies.
2. Picking kits of parts.
3. To ensure the correct and timely purchase of component parts, so that stock levels are maintained at all times.
4. To liaise with purchasing, ensure that preferred suppliers remain competitive and continue to provide best value products.
5. To ensure that internal customer orders are picked and processed correctly and accurately.
6. Responsible for processing internal customer orders.
7. To ensure that all incoming parts are unloaded, checked and appropriately stored.
8. To ensure that M1 is accurately maintained.
9. Inspecting materials delivered and ensuring stock is sufficient.
10. Making sure that all materials are put in the correct locations for storage.
11. Inventory counting and stock checks for materials planning.
12. Deliver all production materials to bays required for production.
13. Ensure compliance with all aspects of the Health & Safety policy.
14. Ensure equality and diversity is actively promoted in the workplace.
