The subeditor will be an essential part of Retail Week’s content team. Working across editorial and commercial content, including digital news, features, analysis, insight and reports across all sectors including fashion, grocery, health and beauty, sports and leisure, and home and DIY. The subeditor will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and clarity of written content. The subeditor will suggest creative, original and inspiring headlines, standfirsts and captions that perform on social media and retail-week.com. As well as publishing content on the site, you will send daily newsletters and subedit in-depth sponsored reports.

What you’ll be doing:
1. Subbing and production of news, features, analysis, opinion and special reports on retail-week.com.
2. Sending email newsletters, including being part of the early shift rota for creating the daily Morning Briefing.
3. Crafting headlines and standfirsts to sell our content on social media and in newsletters.
4. Subbing marketing material for reports and events
5. Liaising with editors, reporters and marketers with them on matters concerning copy.
6. Championing the brand’s house style and tone of voice.
7. Attending and contributing to editorial meetings.
8. Standing in for the production editor when necessary.
9. Creating and updating charts and graphs for reports and articles on an ad hoc basis.
Requirements
What you’ll need:
10. Previous experience with working in a fast-paced editorial environment.
11. Strong attention to detail.
12. Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage your time and tasks effectively.
13. Experience working with a variety of content management systems e.g. Webvision, Shorthand, WordPress.
14. Experience sending email newsletters.
15. Good knowledge of media law.
16. Experience in using Adobe CC suite is desirable but not essential.
17. Experience with using data visualisation tools desirable but not essential.
