PA required in Pudsey area in Leeds to support an 11-year-old boy with social activities - Pudsey - LS28.
Can you spare 4 hours on a weekday during term time, and 8 hours during the school holidays, to support Nathan (age 11) to access community activities and to develop his independence?
A Personal Assistant (P.A.) is required in the LS28 area to support a boy named Nathan, who has a diagnosis of Autism, social and communication difficulties, sensory processing issues, severe learning disabilities, and hypermobility, in accessing local community activities. He requires support with personal care needs, such as toileting, dressing, and assistance with feeding.
Nathan is a happy verbal boy with a pleasant disposition who enjoys books, music, lights, going to local parks, and walks. He must be closely supervised at all times due to his tendency to run off, potential challenging behaviors, and lack of awareness regarding danger and road safety.
Nathan requires a P.A. for a total of 4 hours a week during term time and 8 hours during school holidays, worked flexibly mostly on weekday evenings, but can also include weekends. The working days can be flexible; however, Nathan likes to have a routine, making punctuality and stability essential in this role.
Experience working with children, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (S.E.N.), is preferable. This includes knowledge, experience, and support strategies related to S.E.N. in the following areas: thinking, understanding and learning, emotional and behavioral difficulties, speech, language and communication, and sensory and/or physical difficulties.
