Teaching Personnel is assisting primary schools in Newcastle to recruit Learning Support Assistants. These roles provide excellent support to children aged 4–11, particularly those with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs) and/or ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition), who may sometimes display challenging behavior.
The schools we partner with have experienced Senior Managers, Teachers, and Learning Support Staff skilled in managing ADHD, ADD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, Asperger’s, and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
As a Learning Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
* Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging positive choices and behavior
* Providing general support within the classroom
* Collaborating with SENCOs and class teachers
We are looking for individuals from a range of backgrounds. Whether you're an experienced SEN support assistant, a graduate seeking experience in specialist provision, or have prior experience as a support/care worker, you are welcome to apply. While experience supporting individuals with additional needs is desirable, it is not essential. We are also interested in hearing from you if you have worked in education at any level – primary, secondary, college, or university.
