NPI & Production Engineer – West London
This innovative product development and manufacturing company based in West London specialise in designing and producing award-winning industrial hardware and software for the entertainment industry.
About the Role
They are seeking a New Product Introduction (NPI) & Production Engineer to join a growing Production Engineering team. In this role, you'll manage and refine manufacturing systems compliant with ISO 9001 certification, ensuring high-quality, on-schedule product launches. You'll play a pivotal role in enhancing the manufacturability of new designs, overseeing production processes, and driving continuous improvement in existing products.
This position demands expertise in managing product lifecycle processes, including bills of materials (BoMs), engineering change notes (ECNs), and addressing technical challenges with both manufacturing and design teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with design and project teams to ensure smooth new product introductions at optimal cost and quality.
* Provide input on manufacturability, Lean flow, and waste reduction for new designs.
* Serve as the first point of contact for technical or process-related manufacturing issues.
* Maintain and improve manufacturing processes for existing products, ensuring compliance with evolving requirements.
* Manage engineering changes and component substitutions to address product refreshes or supply issues.
* Oversee the creation of accurate and detailed manufacturing instructions, ensuring timely implementation of changes.
* Work with purchasing teams to develop suppliers and ensure seamless sourcing of new or revised components.
* Collaborate on product labelling and packaging designs to meet compliance and branding standards.
Essential Qualifications
* A degree in a relevant subject.
* 4–5 years of experience in industrial production or product engineering.
* Proven experience with Lean manufacturing, process design, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create clear documentation for technical audiences.
Desirable Skills
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 documentation and audit processes.
* Experience leading or managing teams.
* Interest in or experience with video or lighting products for live entertainment.
