1:1 Learning Support Assistant in the Foundation Phase

Here at Teaching Personnel, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, patient, and pro-active Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support a child within the reception class. The Primary school we are partnered with caters for a wide and diverse range of differently able pupils.
We are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join the successful behaviour support team within the Foundation Phase. The position will be working 1:1 with a non-diagnosed child who displays early signs of autism as well as aggressive behaviours and is easily triggered. The position is within a Welsh medium primary school, meaning all applicants must be able to communicate through the medium of Welsh.
Your duties:
1. Support the pupil in a range of daily activities and experiences helping them understand social situations and emotions.
2. Create a positive, caring, safe, and secure environment.
3. Help to build positive relationships between home and school.
4. Develop working relationships with our internal health and external health professionals sharing working practices.
Whilst having experience working with children who have SEN in a professional setting is desirable, we welcome applications from people who have personal experience or someone who is willing to fully engage and develop skills in the area.
