How You'll Make an Impact
1. System Upgrades: Apply the latest systems and technologies in relation to the gas turbine package auxiliary equipment to enhance the performance and reliability of our products.
2. Provide a technical interface with internal departments, regional divisions, customers and suppliers, ensuring that the project upgrades are implemented within allocated budgets and timescales.
3. Standardising and documenting solutions which can be applied in a consistent manner.
4. Obsolescence Management: Identify and source replacements for individual components and/or systems to maintain the functionality of our equipment.
5. Product Improvement: Propose and implement package upgrades aimed at preventing future issues, enhancing the overall product lifecycle.
6. Fault Resolution: Address and rectify issues in the field by analysing fault reports and implementing corrective actions.
Typical Outputs:
7. Create and maintain Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using AutoCAD software.
8. Generate purchase specifications for equipment and components, including part creation and lifecycle management within Siemens PLM.
9. Produce engineering documents such as design calculations, technical reports, risk assessments, performance graphs, and datasheets as the task demands.
10. Technical recommendations into sales tenders to support future upgrades.
What You Bring
11. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline, accredited by the Engineering Council is required.
12. Several years of proven experience in a Fluid Systems or equivalent role within an associated or similar industry. Preferred candidates will have experience with Gas/Steam Turbine and/or Gas Compression auxiliary packaged systems.
13. Experience with specifying fluid system components and technologies, such as pumps, valves, piping, control gear, actuators, and instrumentation, with ability to evaluate parts and processes for cost, efficiency, and reliability improvements.
14. Good knowledge and understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations applicable to fluid systems design and safety in relation to auxiliary packaged systems. ( ISO21789, SIL, PED, ATEX).
15. Knowledge of COMOS would be advantageous.
Skills:
16. A fundamental understanding of fluid mechanics with practical experience in its application, with the ability to understand, interpret, and produce detailed engineering documentation.
17. Exceptional communication and coordination abilities are essential. Experience in SAP and MS Office Suite is required. The candidate must be capable of liaising with team members, other disciplines, suppliers, and customers effectively. The role demands the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver them within set timescales. The candidate will oversee and review the work of other team members, providing guidance and instruction as needed with the ability to mentor and develop junior engineers and lead complex tasks.
18. A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to think clearly and solve problems effectively with attention to detail are critical.
19. Excellent problem-solving skills with capability to troubleshoot complex engineering challenges independently.

20. While the position is primarily office-based, with hybrid working options available plus occasional requirement for international travel for both customer and vendor meetings along with site surveys.
