We are currently recruiting for an experienced Machinist to join our Pattern Shop team here at Williams working on nightshift. This is a varied role in an exciting environment and to succeed you will need to be adaptable, demonstrate initiative along with the ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
As a Machinist, you will:
1. Be operating three and five axis machines using a diverse material range.
2. Ensure patterns, jigs and race car components are produced in the most efficient, cost-effective way whilst keeping lead-time to a minimum and supplying a quality component.
3. Machine quality composite and / or metallic components, working collaboratively and individually to meet the demands set out by production.
4. It is a critical responsibility of the role to ensure that all relevant data regarding scheduling of work is kept up to date and accurate.
5. Be independent, ambitious and have excellent attention to detail with good numeracy and literacy skills.
6. Have effective interpersonal skills with management, peers, and other partners.
We are looking for a Machinist with the following experience and skills:
7. Possess a recognised apprenticeship or relevant experience in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to work to tight deadlines and short lead times in a small volume manufacturing environment making high quality programs.
8. Good understanding and ability to work with engineering models and technical drawings.
9. Self-motivated and be able to work to deadlines with minimal supervision and instruction.
10. Excellent Communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
11. Ability to prioritise workload and react to changing priorities.
12. Excellent attention to details with good numeracy and literacy skills with a can-do attitude.
