Role Details
Job Title: Registered Nurse
Reports to: Deputy Manager
Job Overview: In addition to these functions, employees are required to carry out such duties as may reasonably be required.
Location: The service premises, but you may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.
Working Hours: 5 days over a 7-day period, as agreed with the manager.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Job
Role-specific Duties:
1. Ensure that service users are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
2. Undertake the care planning activities for service users to meet changing physical, psychological and social needs, taking into consideration privacy, dignity, personal choice and informed consent.
3. Ensure care plans are developed in collaboration with service users, their families and friends (where appropriate) and members of the multidisciplinary team.
4. Undertake all aspects of medicine management in line with legal, professional and regulatory requirements.
5. Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.
Working with Others:
1. Develop effective working relationships with all employees within the service.
2. Work in cooperation with members of the multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for service users in the service.
Other Duties:
1. Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
2. Work within the NMC Code of Conduct.
3. Provide leadership to the care and nursing functions of the service.
4. Provide nursing care in accordance with current best practice, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager.
Personal and Professional Development:
1. Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management.
2. Be registered with the NMC and work within the Code of Conduct.
3. Comply with NMC requirements for revalidation every three years.
Person Specification
Specific Requirement for Qualifications
1. Essential: Good English - written and verbal, Registered with relevant body, e.g. NMC, Level 1 Registered Nurse Qualification.
2. Desirable: Supervisory or management qualification.
Specific Requirement for Skills
1. Essential: Proficient Written Skills, Problem-solving Skills, Communication Skills.
2. Desirable: Maintain all care plans/care records in accordance with the service’s policy and audit care records following company policy to ensure compliance.
Specific Requirement for Previous Experience
1. Essential: Previous experience of working in similar environments, Previous experience of working in similar supervisory roles.
2. Desirable: Experience of working with service users, in particular, those that may have additional support needs.
