We are looking for someone with excellent knowledge of Financial Control and Accounting within the Renewable Energy sector or with other infrastructure projects which are underpinned by Project Finance. You will have experience of managing banking covenants, reporting to lenders and of controlling finances in this type of environment.
You will be a fully qualified Accountant and hold an ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAEW licence or equivalent and be able to demonstrate experience of having managed Project Finances through Financial Control and Accounting. You will be technically strong as an accountant, have great controller skills and prior experience of staff management and leadership.
You will report into the Finance Director, directly manage other finance staff and play a critical role in the day-to-day financial management and reporting of the projects and other project teams. You will have exposure to operational, commercial and finance aspects of these projects.
Your role will include:
1. Responsibility for all external financial information including statutory reporting, taxation and other reporting requirements, you will also manage the monthly Management Accounting process including variance analysis and writing commentary on performance.
2. Developing, enhancing, and having ownership of financial controls development, you will improve the financial environment and ensure that risks are mitigated and controlled. This includes developing systems, processes, and ways of working.
3. You will manage accurate and timely reporting for lenders, shareholders, other JV partners who may submit ad-hoc requests for reports on performance. You will be fully up to speed on cash flow, forecasts, performance against the budget and project-related financial matters.
4. Managing the project finance debt facilities including debt draw downs, liaison with lender's appointed advisers, preparation of semi-annual forecasts and covenant testing. You will also administer the financial models for the projects.
5. Overseeing all relevant aspects of the general ledger, purchase ledger and sales ledger functions within the project companies, providing the required support to the staff where required.

For this role we are looking for someone with the following skills, experience and attributes:
6. Professional accounting qualification which might include an ICAS, ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA and CPA or other professional accounting membership.
7. Previous demonstrable experience of working in an energy projects environment either in an operating company or as an external adviser such as an accounting practice.
8. Prior experience with managing the project finance or other debt reporting requirements and deliverable, experience in cost control aspects of infrastructure and energy projects.
9. You will have a strong technical accounting background including knowledge of FRS 102 or IFRS and how this is applied to energy projects.
10. Strong MS Excel skills including experience with working with complicated financial models for energy and infrastructure projects.
