In partnership with a client in the Defence and Nuclear sector, Jacobs is working to deliver a programme of works involving all aspects of our clients built environment portfolio outside of the critical nuclear facilities our client develops, owns and maintains.
To ensure a successful outcome for NNEP we are recruiting for an executive Delivery Director who will be responsible for ensuring the successful operational delivery of all projects and programmes across the NNEP framework. The Delivery Director will oversee all active NNEP Major programmes and the existing Capital Projects (including in some cases close out of previous framework projects). The postholder will also be responsible for the delivery of future projects programmes identified and mobilised within the NNEP framework.
You will ensure the successful planning, management, execution and close out of all projects of varying complexity being delivered within the NNEP programme. You will balance the delivery objectives of the NNEP, removing blockers, managing risks, commercial elements, budgets and people, redeploying resources where necessary as priorities change. A critical role will be to develop strong and collaborative relationships with Stakeholders to create mutual trust and drive the values and behaviours we have collaboratively developed in our Charter.
With a demonstrable understanding and experience of delivery across the programme, you will support the Framework Director by ensuring delivery of the vision and by coaching, mentoring and leading the project and programme management team(s) in the execution of their individual scopes. You will also be responsible for understanding, managing, and communicating with multiple stakeholder groups, balancing priorities as you do so.
Key Tasks: (accountabilities)
1. Lead the delivery of all projects within the NNEP programme through exemplar project control ensuring they are delivered on time and to budget or better.
2. Ensure successful leadership of multidisciplinary teams ensuring appropriate resources are available and fully trained to be able to carry out their tasks.
3. Identifies and mitigates risks associated with the programme managing them out and reporting on them when required.
4. Owns the overall quality and safety delivery of NNEP.
5. Seeking out areas of improvement within delivery with the aim of achieving safer faster and more cost-effective delivery of projects.
6. Track and reporting on programme delivery milestones and project status NNEP leadership and stakeholders.
7. Identifying and managing interdependencies across program workstreams.
Here's What You'll Need:
8. Demonstrably significant experience of major programme delivery across a number of programmes of values of £100s of millions of pounds., preferably including international.
9. Exceptional leadership and behavioural management qualities with proven experience of leading change, and in building multi-disciplinary project and programme teams.
10. Experience of managing and leading large multi-disciplinary teams in complex stakeholder environment.
11. Strong understanding and experience of NEC and different contract forms, including working knowledge of public sector contracts.
12. Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Project Management with an in-depth knowledge of agile and other methodologies.
13. Proven experience of end-to-end programme delivery, with excellent knowledge and understanding of design and construction in a highly technical environment - preferably in contractor and/or programme delivery partner roles.
14. Strong planning skills together with the flexibility and resilience required to maintain momentum of delivery of projects.
