We are looking for a Trainee Seed Analyst in charge to join the GFP team, based at Brigg, on a permanent full-time basis.
You will be working with our wider team and will be responsible for seed analysis, working in a busy Grain Laboratory whilst upholding Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards. You will also have the chance to work towards the Laboratory management qualification (Analyst in Charge) for cereals and pulses.

About You
8. Experience of working in a Laboratory or similar working environment (desirable)
9. Seed Analyst part 1 qualified (desirable)
10. Analyst in Charge qualified (desirable)
11. Good working knowledge of Microsoft office
12. A flexible approach to working hours during peak season
13. Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally
14. Ability to work on own initiative, drawing conclusions, managing own workload and time, whilst developing effective and supportive relationships with colleagues and customers
15. Crop Inspectors Licence (desirable – training may be given to the right candidate)
Your Role
As a Trainee Seed Analyst in Charge your role will involve:
16. Analysing seed, grain and pulses for both GFP and third-party customers
17. Ensuring procedures are followed for grain testing
18. Ensuring certification procedures are followed for seed analysis
19. Recording all samples on to the system and inputting data
20. Carrying out research for external companies
21. Checking equipment is working accurately
22. Ensuring all records are accurate and any anomalies are highlighted to the Laboratory Manager
23. Covering the Laboratory Manager in their absence
24. Crop Inspection and seed sampling
25. Work towards achieving the Laboratory Manager qualification
26. Communicating and reporting of results to internal and external customers
27. Liaising with official bodies and their representatives
28. Involvement with internal and external audits (training available as required)
