Randstad have an opportunity available for an experienced Learning Support Officer to join the team at Belfast Metropolitan College.

Requirements
7. GCSE Maths and English Grade C and above plus a level 5 qualification or equivalent
8. Minimum of 2 years' recent experience of providing support to post primary aged children or adults with disabilities
9. Essential Requirement; Experience of implementing a range of support interventions/reasonable adjustments to meet the needs of young people or adults with disabilities enabling them to overcome their barriers to education and learning
10. Excellent MS Office skills
11. Essential Requirement; Proven knowledge and practice of working with students who require examination access arrangements
12. Demonstrable knowledge of related funding mechanisms for students with disability in FE/HE
13. Candidates will be subject to enhanced vetting including an enhanced Access NI check and compliance due to the nature of this work
Responsibilities
14. To contribute to the development, maintenance, and co-ordination of a range of support services for students with disabilities, learning difficulties or long-term medical conditions to ensure that students can participate fully in their chosen course of study
15. To assess the additional support needs of students with disabilities, learning difficulties or long-term medical conditions and implement support strategies in line with the requirements of the student pathway in a busy environment
16. To provide a central point of contact for all students and prospective students with disabilities students with disabilities, learning difficulties or long-term medical conditions
17. To review support strategies for students with students with disabilities, learning difficulties or long-term medical conditions in conjunction with relevant academic staff
18. To liaise and co-operate with other College provision and services as they relate to the support needs of the student and the development of staff training
19. To provide informed advice and information regarding several support services for students with disabilities, learning difficulties or long-term medical conditions
20. To provide information and advice to staff and students in relation to the appropriate procedures for the administration of the Additional Support Fund, Disabled Student Allowance, the implementation of special examination arrangements and other support services within the organisation
