What you’ll be doing: Responsible for delivering tasks in a timely, consistentand professional manner by: –
Establishing and delivering the engineering activitiesaligned with the businesses Digital Engineering transformation,using systems integration & systems engineering techniqueswhilst engaging with Engineering teams and subject matter expertsas appropriate. These will generally involve collaborating across avirtual team, influencing individuals to deliver. Exploitation of learning across Air and other BAE SystemsUnits, as well as the broader industry including regulators,customers and suppliers. Coordinating activities with the other leads on DigitalEngineering transformation. Assisting/advising on the development of toolset optionsand toolset implementations, which support new ways of working,including participating in testing prototype tooling through casestudies/use cases.
* Workingalongside Engineering Teams and Regulatory Authorities to developan optimum certification approach for new and novel technologiesand ways of working.
Identifyproposals for changes to MRP Part 21 to ensure design organisationapprovals reflect the Digital Engineering transformation.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Degree or HNC/HND or demonstratedexperience in Airworthiness / FutureCapability
InitialAirworthiness, Certification, Requirements Engineering(DEFSTAN)
* Model-BasedSystems Engineering and related techniques, processes & tools(ISO 15288)
Exhibits positive behaviour,Integrity, Adaptability, Courage, Collaboration,Creativity
Desirable:
* Knowledge of Engineering Lifecycle and EngineeringIntegration
Understanding of Safety Engineeringprocesses, practices & tools

The Airworthiness and ProductIntegrity Team: This role iswithin the Airworthiness & Product Integrity DigitalEngineering Capability team within the Air Business within BAESystems. The team operates across all Air products (goods andservices) providing product safety, product environmentalsustainability and product security engineering resource to allprogrammes across the business. In addition, the team delivers theindependent assurance activities associated with airworthiness,product safety, product environmental sustainability and productsecurity in a collaborative and supportive environment. Thisspecific role will be within the Initial Airworthiness domain,working in the following areas:
Development of the future 6th generationfighter engaging with DE&S and the MAA to ensure thatairworthiness and product integrity in a digital environment isdelivered safely and securely, with appropriate considerations onthe impact on the environment. Exploitation of technologicaladvancements in areas such as autonomy, artificial intelligence andthe continued use of product integrity data linking into thedigital engineering environment. Engaging with international workinggroups in the development of legislation, regulation and standardsassociated with digital certification, autonomy, AI, and productsafety.
