About the role
The Student Adviser post will support students based in one of its academic faculties. The postholder will provide a key point of contact for first year undergraduate students and will also support appropriate activities across all undergraduate groups within their academic units. The Student Adviser will work alongside colleagues in academic units to strengthen the local support provision and facilitate effective connection with students.
This role will be maternity cover until 24 November or the return of the substantive postholder, whichever is the earlier.

About you
The successful applicant will have proven experience in supporting the pastoral needs of others, preferably within a higher educational institution. They will be experienced in managing the complex needs of others and able to demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach towards working with others.
You will be highly organised and able to prioritise and manage your own workload effectively. You will have excellent administrative skills, including the ability to maintain accurate and detailed records, together with excellent IT skills that includes MS Office. You are a confident and clear communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and are able to listen and advise, exercise tact and diplomacy and maintain confidentiality.
