We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Assistant to join the Legal Section of our client, Conwy Council. The successful candidate will support various legal professionals in a broad spectrum of legal tasks and responsibilities, playing a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting in the preparation and management of civil and criminal litigation, including attending Court with Counsel.
* Supporting in child care law cases, including care proceedings, fostering, and adoption.
* Aiding in the preparation of statutory notices and orders under various legislation (e.g., highways, education).
* Assisting in the preparation of contracts and agreements.
* Supporting freehold and leasehold conveyancing as well as Town and Country Planning matters.
* Assisting with legal matters related to adult social care, including Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, Mental Health Act 1983, and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
* Conducting legal research as required.
* Undertaking other duties consistent with the job role and title.
