Financial Controller role for a leading education provider, overseeing its financial operations, ensuring robust financial management and guiding financial planning. The position involves budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting and will play a key role in supporting the college’s strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial reporting
2. Preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports
3. Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads as a Business Partner
4. Monitor and report on budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
5. Preparation of cashflow forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making
6. Coordinate and oversee annual audits and liaise with external auditors
7. Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including the preparation and submission of statutory VAT returns.
8. Provide financial analysis and support for strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
9. Manage and develop the finance team, providing leadership, training, and support to ensure high performance.
10. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team.
