Overseeing and coordinating the daily scheduling and route planning of the bulker fleet (and other vehicles as required) whilst working closely with Customer service. Direct and regular liaison with the Drivers to ensure customer requirements are delivered to the highest standards at all times, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and schedule movements as per received internal and external booked customer orders for the following day.
* Plan and offer delivery options for customer orders to ensure both customer expectations and transport efficiency targets are met on regular bases.
* Proactively work to minimise late deliveries/collections or missed time slots.
* Maintain regular and safe communication with drivers and deal with any driver issues and complaints in a professional manner.
* Ensure daily schedule is created to meet the business targets and optimise transport efficiencies. Proactively update and change schedule when required.
* Monitor drivers’ activity through the tracker and be pro-active to any issues that may arise and respond accordingly in line with our expected customer service levels.
* Liaison with Workshop regarding service, MOT and repairs.
The Successful Candidate will:
* Have experience in the industry.
* Have experience of transport planning and an ability to work under pressure.
* Have keen eye for detail and commitment to meeting service commitments.
* Have computing skills including IT systems, MS Excel and Outlook.
* Have a full UK driving licence.
* A CPC desirable but not essential.
