Bolton Foundation Trust has a fantastic opportunity to join the Family Care Division as a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner in the Paediatric Dietetic Service
We are a community based service of nine Paediatric Dietitians and two Assistant Practitioners, and deliver an integrated service across the acute and community settings
Main duties of the job
You will deliver a group programme for children with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Condition who have associated selective eating or limited diet
You will deliver a group programmes for infants and young children with Cow's Milk Allergy
You will provide support in Special School clinics by weighing and measuring children
You will provide support for children referred to the service who have a high Body Mass Index and who are under the care of the specialist dietitian
You will provide face to face and telephone appointments for children with nutritional deficiencies and constipation and other similar conditions
You will provide support for the Paediatric Dietitians by taking messages and arranging delivery of feeding equipment for children who are tube fed at home
You will help support student dietitians who are on placement
You will need to be flexible in your working pattern and be able to travel between different sites to meet the needs of the client group in a variety of settings, such as The Royal Bolton Hospital, Outpatients, GP surgeries, Health Centres, Schools and patient's homes.

Essential
1. Education to Higher National Certificate, Vocational Qualifications level 4 or 5, Foundation Degree, Higher National Diploma, Diploma in Higher Education or equivalent
Knowledge

2. A basic knowledge of nutrition in health and disease including malnutrition, nutrition support and principles of healthy eating.

3. Experience of planning and delivering health education to individuals and groups.
