City Plumbing are delighted to announce Commercial at City Plumbing, a brand new venture that looks to sell the full range of products to the commercial construction market. Read on to find out more about our Business Development Manager focusing on our Sanitaryware offering.
The Role:
We’re already a market leader in the domestic Plumbing and Heating sector, selling products to both trade and consumer customers. But now we are expanding into the Commercial (Non-Residential) sector too.
This is why we’re excited to announce Commercial at City Plumbing has now been established offering solutions across the Commercial sector including everything from Bathrooms & Washrooms to Mechanical & Electrical Building services- selling the full range of products for commercial construction projects.
As part of this new venture, we’re now looking to recruit a Business Development Manager for our Sanitaryware offering to be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing relationships with potential clients to grow a company’s customer base and revenue. As our Business Development Manager your role will primarily focus on acquiring new business opportunities by utilising market knowledge & available data to identify sales opportunities.
The New Business Development Manager will also establish contact and build relationships with the potential customers that align with the Non-Residential propositional capabilities and leverage the group's strengths. In addition, the Business Development Manager will explore all internally generated leads to ensure that they are followed up and developed into sales.
Key Responsibilities
* Use the sales ledger to identify opportunities. Utilise data and insight from the Internal sales team to be a step ahead and know where to focus. Ensure timely management of accounts by using our CRM system to log conversations and when a follow up is required.
* Present and demonstrate the proposition to potential customers, showing off what we can deliver and the value we can add to their business, tailoring solutions to their needs.
* Establish and nurture long-term relationships with new customers, acting as the main point of contact for the sales process.
* Utilise the SPM system to track and manage sales opportunities. Forecast, monitor progress and amend strategies to maximise opportunity.
* Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms with customers to ensure that we maximise opportunity.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop campaigns aimed at attracting new business. Utilise the skills already within the business to understand the market and align the offerings to our new customers, to increase the likelihood of City Plumbing being the new customers' choice.
* Stay updated on industry trends and competitors to identify potential business opportunities. Use information to stay ahead of our competitors and the market.
* Provide regular reporting to ensure that senior stakeholders are able to make data-driven decisions based on accurate information. This will also give opportunity to celebrate successes and develop new ways of working where necessary.
We’re a new team so collaboration for us is really important. Whilst this specific role will be remote in nature, you will be responsible for a geographical area in the UK, and encouraged to collaborate with colleagues in person as necessary to reach your full potential.

Skills and Competencies
* Self-motivated to overachieve and deliver against sales targets.
* Previous experience selling within a similar industry is highly sought after.
* Experience resolving queries in end-to-end processes, focusing on solutions and clear communication.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to build relationships quickly and be a champion for Commercial at City Plumbing.
* Knowledge of the Commercial Washrooms and Bathrooms Market will be highly desirable.
