The starting salary for this role is £46,399 per annum and is based on a 36- hour working week. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Senior Supervising/Assessing Social Worker in the Family and Friends Team within Surrey's Fostering Service, based at Quadrant Court, Woking. About the Team You will be part of a creative fostering service that works with the theories of trauma, attachment and loss, restorative practice to ensure the best outcomes for our children. About the Role The primary focus of the role will be assessing connected persons foster carers and proposed special guardians, as well as completing assessments for temporary approval under Regulation 24, supervising Connected Persons Foster carers, and carrying out general tasks within the wider fostering team.Self-motivated and accustomed to working to deadlines, you will have good IT and communication skills, with experience of establishing and nurturing multi-agency relationships.To recognise, your exceptional skills and talent, further to a competitive salary, we are now offering a new financial package of up to £6,000 to new permanent qualified frontline case-holding Social Workers. (These are subject to tax and national insurance deductions and paid pro rata if you are part time):
10. An unconsolidated welcome payment of £1,000 with a corresponding retention period of six months
11. A further unconsolidated retention payment of £2,000 on completion of six months service, with a corresponding retention period of twelve months
12. A final unconsolidated retention payment of £3,000 on completion of 18 months service with a corresponding retention period of two years.
Payment will be deducted from the final month salary should the corresponding tie-in period not be completed.To be shortlisted to interview for this position, your application will clearly evidence:
13. Your experience of working with children and young people and a comprehensive knowledge of legislation relating to Looked After Children and Care Proceedings
14. Your ability to be able to work directly with the wider public, foster carers and young people, and be able to produce clear, evidence based and analytical assessments
15. Your flexibility to be able to work evenings and occasional weekends, as the role includes attending events and home visits outside office hours
16. That you are a qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
This role is primarily within the Fostering Team based at Quadrant Court, Woking, however it is our intention to move within the local area to Victoria Gate in Central Woking later this year.Surrey has both urban and rural areas and locality based social care workers will be expected to have a valid driving licence to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across a wide geographical area.Reasonable adjustments where needed will be made for successful applicants who have a disability or long term health condition to enable them to fulfil the requirements of the job.
