Fuel Cell Systems is an innovative provider of hydrogen hardware systems, including the design, build, and supply of proprietary refueling systems for hydrogen mobility applications and integrated modular Electrolyser systems for hydrogen production, storage and dispensing.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Documentation and Certification Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for compiling technical files to achieve CE marking compliance and producing key documentation such as Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals. The ideal candidate will work closely with design, engineering, and compliance teams to ensure that all technical documentation meets regulatory, customer, and internal quality standards

Essential Experience, Qualifications and Competencies
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical writing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Proven experience in preparing technical files and documentation for CE marking.
* Knowledge of relevant EU/UK directives and standards (e.g., Machinery Directive, Pressure Vessel Directive, ATEX Classification).
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation tools.
Desirable Experience, Qualifications and Competencies
* Familiarity with other certification frameworks (e.g., UKCA/CE, UL, ISO standards).
* Experience with TÜV certification processes.
* Experience with CAD software for incorporating drawings into documentation.
* Previous experience in the hydrogen or automotive industry.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Technical File Compilation:
* Collect and organise information required for CE marking, including risk assessments, test reports, and design specifications.
* Ensure compliance with relevant directives, regulations, and standards (e.g., Machinery Directive, ATEX, PED).
O&M Manual Production:
* Develop clear, concise, and user-friendly Operation and Maintenance manuals for products.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to gather accurate technical content.
* Include diagrams, instructions, and safety information in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
Regulatory Compliance:
* Stay updated on relevant EU/UK regulations and standards affecting product certification.
* Assist in preparing declarations of conformity and other certification documents.
* TÜV Certification Support - liaise with TÜV certification bodies to facilitate product testing and certification as needed.
Documentation Management:
* Maintain accurate records of all technical documentation and certification files.
* Implement and improve documentation control processes to ensure consistency and traceability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
* Work closely with design engineers, project managers, and quality teams to gather necessary information and ensure timely delivery of documentation.
* Liaise with external testing bodies, certification agencies, and TÜV when required.
